Karin Cox is a native of Bavaria, Germany. She came to live in Florida at the age of 18 and continued to travel extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. She also lived in New York and Los Angles, where she was working for Walt Disney Studio. After a move to the Northwest, she met her husband, Conrad. Together, they decided to move to Pend Oreille County, the most northeastern part of Washington State, at the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. They designed and built Serendipity Ranch on the beautiful Pend Oreille River.
Conrad was an avid golfer and decided to build his own golf course as there was no other golf course in Pend Oreille County. In 1996, he was ALMOST finished with his project when he was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. Sadly, Conrad lost his battle with cancer in May, 1996. David, as a tribute to his Dad, finished building the golf course. Since she now had an executive 9 hole golf course in her backyard, Karin decided to open Serendipity for guests. She created a Bed & Golf with the log cabin guesthouse they originally constructed only for family and friends. The golf course was ready for play!.
